Coming Soon.....

Two special little guys are celebrating their birthdays next week and Sweet Celebrations is drawing up plans for two very different and very YUMMY birthday cakes.....

First up, Choooo choooo choooooo a Thomas the Train cake.  This birthday boy isn't too much older then my little guy.  We're just starting to get into the Thomas the Train stage at my house and I have to say, I'm super excited about a Thomas the Train cake.

Next, a WWE Wrestling Cake.   Now, I have to confess that prior to this cake order, I knew nothing about wrestling.  Thankfully, we live in a world of Google....Google has helped me find photos of what I need to create a seriously awesome wrestling cake for this little dude.  Though, I still haven't mastered the terminology...."RAW" "Smackdown" "Viper" "Tough Enough"....

Check back in a week or so for pics!

Diego & Dora - Happy Birthday Daniel!

Daniel just turned three and his mom tells me he's a huge fan of Dora and Diego.  Last year, I made Elmo cookies for Daniel's birthday party.  This year, a Dora & Diego cake.

His mom wanted a forest scene with a pond and waterfall...and of course, animal tracks.

Take a look:

The bridge & trees are made of gumpaste....

The rocks and flowers are fondant and everything else is buttercream.

Everything except for the figures of course, those are plastic - not made by me!

And, here is one last pic.....this is what happens when you leave a 3 year old birthday boy with an unattended cake...good thing his mom was able to quickly explain that the toy animals couldn't play on the cake until after it was cut!
Happy Third Birthday Daniel!!

Hello Kitty & Happy 6th Birthday Ashlyn & Olivia!!

Ashlyn & Olivia are adorable twins who just turned 6 and who love Hello Kitty.  My little munchkin and my hubby and I attended their birthday party today, with the cake of course.

I'm not sure I've ever seen so many kids under one roof, but I suppose its just a typical twin party for their mom and dad.  The party was a lot of fun (despite the rainy weather) and the cake was a delicious success that made two adorable 6 year olds very happy - what could be better?!?
Ashlyn  & Olivia's cake was full of thin and chunky stripes, whimsical dots, and of course Hello Kitty  and a big bow on top.

The bottom tier was a white almond sour cream cake and the top tier was a chocolate fudge cake.  Both tiers were filled with vanilla buttercream and decorated with fondant dots and stripes.
Hello Kitty and the bow on top are made from gumpaste and dusted with luster dust.  I'm happy to say that Hello Kitty's emergency whisker surgery late last night worked and there were no falling whiskers today!

The cupcakes  were also frosted with vanilla buttercream and decorated with edible sugar pearls that complimented the cake colors.
