Polka Dots and Bows

This cake might just be one of my new favorites....

 I love the combination of playful dots with the gigantic pink bow on top - I think the colors are feminine and cheerful!

The pink bow is made from gumpaste...

  



The cake is frosted with vanilla buttercream and the dots are made from fondant.

 Adorable, isn't it!?!

Spring Daffodils

Spring has been a bit on the chilly and rainy side this year, but I still love to look out my window to see this...beautiful daffodils in bloom!  They are so gorgeous and make me think SPRING, even if the weather leaves a bit to be desired.  What could be better inspiration for a spring cake than daffodils!?

That is my inspiration......

This is a four layer white almond sour cream cake filled with cannoli cream filling (yep - another cannoli cake!) and frosted with vanilla cornflower blue buttercream.   

The daffodils and leaves are hand made from gumpaste and fondant.   This cake wasn't for a customer, rather I brought it to my husband's family's Easter celebration. I'm happy to say it was a success - earning the "Best Cake Ever" comments from more than one in attendance - yay!

Cannoli cake with chocolate truffles...

Happy Birthday Bob!  Bob's birthday isn't officially until next week, but he was in town visiting his kids today, so why not celebrate it a little bit early?! 

This cake is a two layer white almond sour cream cake, filled with cannoli cream filling (with mini chocolate chips, of course!) and iced with vanilla buttercream. 

The abstract designs are chocolate buttercream and this cake is topped with various kinds of chocolate truffles from Munsons chocolate. 

 LOVE how this cake turned out and I'm told it was absolutely delicious!!

Hot Pink & High Heels!

Seriously, how cute is this cake!? 

This is Jenny's Birthday cake and what girl wouldn't love it - pink, more pink and a high heel shoe!  This cake was so much fun to make and I am thrilled with how the zebra stripe cake board turned out (and yes, it is food safe).
